Hi.

We’re Plaintiff,

A team of internationally exhibiting and practicing artists who saw the need to establish a new kind of print house.  When considering the type of studio we wanted to be, we built our ethos on one of accessibility, rather than open access. We’re with you every step of the way: from concept to realisation, working with clients to translate their ideas into printed matter.

We hand pick projects that excite us, lending our technical expertise and material sensibility that is built on years of combined practices, editioning and exhibiting experience.

why Plaintiff?

We’re based in a disused courthouse in London. It all remains intact: the 70s lacquered wood, green topped tables and red velvet chairs. Light streams through climbing ivy. It’s beautiful and eerie. We find so much inspiration here.

in our defence

The story writes itself.

After all, who is the plaintiff? And why name a press after it? The plaintiff is the one who makes a claim, dares to be different: the issuer … of fine art limited editions.

And yes, we have a very specific sense of humour, but we’re also serious. We aren’t an open access studio or your typical editioning house. We are a small group of devoted artists, publishers and printers who love the medium and love experimentation. It is our goal to make projects we are passionate about, to work with artists, emerging and established, and to create collaboratively.

so all rise
